Chapter 1
§9. Punishment of Felonies

A. For offenses committed on or after July 1, 1998, every offense declared to be a felony shal be punished according to the applicable sentencing level. If a specific fine is provided for by law, the fine may be imposed as provided in subsection C of Section 64 of this title.

B. For offenses committed before July 1, 1998, except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed by this title, or by some existing provision of law, every offense declared to be felony is punishable by a fine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or by imprisonment in the State Penitentiary not exceeding two (2) years, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
